I think you are probably correct, lots of fun to be had there.

I'm not sure, it might have a sign "Do Not Feed the Caged Boy! Violators Will Be Prosecuted." Or maybe we would be trying to feed him (like in Hansel and Gretel) so that we could save him for later consumption...

Do you think the Gryffindors have launched any rescue missions to free him?
