As fair warning, there is a bad pun behind the "Saturday" cut. I tried to think up a match but subtle pun to here, but am a bit jammed for ideas.

On... Saturday. My grandmother, mom, Steve and I went berry picking. Steve and I had been hoping to hang out that Saturday, but my health was all boo urns, so we combined activities. I think it worked out pretty well! We found tiny little delicious (oishi!) wild plums and some wild pears in addition to the blackberry haul. A very... wait for it... fruitful outing.

A small group of us then attended the Free-B Movie Festival in the park. The Flash Gordon short ended with a classic "Rock fall, everyone dies." (though not really, but it was how things appeared!) I was amused to discover that in the thirties, people didn't fall. They ran down the side of the hole. How very delightful. Why did we stop doing that? "Stampede" well deserved it's B status, but that made mocking it all the more fun. It surprised us a few times with its intelligence too - who'd have thought they could actually employ so amusing and succesful a plan in such a movie? It was set in Montana, but it was shot on the Saanich Peninsula. A Vancouver Island Western indeed! This was its first local airing in over seventy years. I guess they were short on horses?

Sunday saw more tired (I was up far too late reading the crack that is "His Majesty's Dragon") and LARP. I found out that Miles was in fact dead and promptly rearranged my week and set to crying. Despite changes, I still delivered Becky's "Thank you Mr Faysal" card, which seemed to amuse everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed what turned out to be the climax of Joyee's plot arc.

I am eager to see how things develop next week and am a little sorry I won't be here to see how things unfold at large. I'll have to find a way of staying up-to-date.

In the meantime, I'm working hard (hardly working?), planning my "Taste of the Danforth" party and still not believing that it's less than six days until I go back to my other home. I am still too entrenched in routine, I think. I know exactly where the summer went, but it's still a little startling to find it gone. Though I suppose I'll be headed back into summer, because with the except of half a dozen days, I neatly side-stepped all the summer heat and it will still be quite warm out east. I hope you've all saved some thunderstorms for me.

Hey, I wince as I ask this but am I still welcome at said party? I'll completely understand if you'd rather I not be there.

The story I got from two different parties is that you had in-character reasons for the attack and that you kept trying to dump the body and avoid what did happen. Among other, non-life threatening plans. I don't think I'm terribly mad at you.

Matt is coming and Joyee will probably show. I can't speak for their reactions. I am still upset - it's a shitty thing to happen to a really beloved character after all the work Joyee had gone to. That being said, I also have no especial problems with you coming to the party, so long as you don't talk about game.
