Today I saw my family off, burned a whole whack of time, enjoyed Ensemble quite thoroughly and actually managed to make really good use of my leftover spoon or two when I got in to get a bunch of reading done. I'd meant to go on until ten, but my brain stopped working about twenty minutes short of that. So what did I do after that?

I'm actually addressing three episodes in here, only one of which I watched tonight. I am afraid I mislead you. (For shame!)

"Constellation of Doubt" was pretty nifty, even if the the idea that Pilot could recieve a transmision from Earth is patently ridiculous. (There's also no good reason John should have brought a football tape with him, considering he did not find out for some time that Aeryn had bought him a TV. How did they even go about making the technologies - it has to get power from Moya - compatible anyway?) I digress. It's worth the suspension of disbelief to explore Earth's reactions to their alien visitors. (Though a niggling little voice continues to insist that why in the HELL did John's family release ALL of the footage on the tapes? Seriously, they had to know how bad some of it looks.)

"Prayer" was passable. Aeryn saying prayers felt really out of character (she doesn't give up and start praying to merciless gods of old that easily!), but I did like learning bits of Sabatian lore. John and Scorpius's side trip was an interesting expedition (can I say again how wonderful Claudia Black is in her immitation of Chianna?), but it was too... wormholes are getting to be a little deus ex-y, convenient plot point-y. See all the Borg and time travel in Star Trek: Voyager for prime examples of that. Black really had her work cut out for her in that episode, didn't she?

"We're So Screwed" was quite reasonable and I think it's hilarious that they have to go and rescue Scorpius. And you know, I thought it was odd that the Scorpy-clone should so willingly submit to being got rid of when the one in the other John put up such a fight. (Oh noes! It's the big scary "Other". And yes, I am a geeky litt student!) Now I know.

Though I must admit, the Nosferatu Scorpius icon was a lot more entertaining when I thought it was some fan's mad genius creation.

I'm done like dinner. Perhaps more tommorow or on the weekend.

As soon as I get done with this season (which is the last anyway - only the mini-series to go), I'll be playing catch-up with Heroes.

You're not the only one who had trouble with the logic of these episodes. I felt that all of season 4 was a little over the top, but I still enjoyed the episodes a lot.

I find that, on the whole, season four is the weakest. I've raced to the end of every other season, but I'm quite happy to meander my way through this time around. That being said, I'm still enjoying most of it. It's just often lacking the same Ooph that made me fall in love with the show.

I agree, the other seasons were more dynamic. But I find the episodes enjoyable because I'm totally able to relate to the characters.

My question is...if they use Dentics to clean their teeth (and not toothbrushes) how the hell would you be able to plug in a tv? I mean...are there outlets on Moya? And would Earth plugs be compatible? Which ones? There are so many...

Nosferatu!Scorpy amuses me.

Well, toothbrushes don't need power to begin with (granted, there are electric toothbrushes).

That was basically my question. I can only assume they'd be able to adapt *something*, like in John's shuttle, but it would take work. It's not like there's a standard US electric socket built into Moya. (She's awesome, but not that capable.)
