A Love Letter to Math

Oh fractions, I am so glad I re-learned what you were and how to deal with you. <3 Seriously, you and the crazy mathematical skills you endow are better than a best friend, sometimes. Actually, to all of math: you are pretty rad. I know we haven't gotten along very well in the last seven years (Remember the days I couldn't multiply 4x1? We've been through a lot together!) and I even had to drop OAC Calculus (it made me sad too), but I'm glad we managed to work things out as well as we did. I hope our relationship never deteriorates again.

Math is the subject that makes a poor first impression, but you get to love it over time when you get to know it.

The trouble is, math I used to get along great. I was consistently at the top of my class (or years when that frustrating boy who was also good in math was also in the room, second). My stroke hit right on my math centers though, so when I say I had to re-learn fractions, when there were times I couldn't do 4x1, this was only six, seven years ago. So it really is lovely to be capable of it!

Oh! But then it's quite an accomplishment to re-learn it!

I have recently regained my ability to do math in my head, stupid calculators.

I share your enthusiasm.

That said, this post scores high on the geekly ratings, lady!

Yay maths! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiMWJ1xBo8w)

I do okay in my head, but I prefer to have a piece of paper and a pen.

I remember that video! I think I showed it to you last summer!
