I definitely wished they had actually let Padme live a bit longer, with Leia, so that Leia COULD remember her real mother.
That can arguably be written off though, as a quirk of human psychology. Organa and Padme clearly knew each other, and she must have heard stories. The human mind has an interesting way of inventing memories if you something often enough, or sometimes after just one hearing.
