Why hello there!

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aldehyde and [livejournal.com profile] deeplyunhip for your lovely cards! I found them waiting for me when I got in last night. That does mean I'm back in the east, happily settling back into routines. I missed you, eddoes and kolhrabi! (Could not find them on the west coast and it was sad.) I'm currently losing the jet lag battle, but give it a few days; I always have a harder time coming east than going west.

Though it wasn't all on what I should have been working on (ficathon deadline is starting to loom), I wrote some comment fic over the holidays. Riley-centric TSCC fic here, Martha-centric Doctor Who fic here, Torchwood Jack fic here and a little bit of love for Supernatural's Ellen Harvelle.

I'm not entirely happy with the Martha fic in particular; I'm far too wordy and maybe it's formality that I don't like in the tone, but I can't quite put my finger on the problem with it. I like the Jack piece best. I'm so much more comfortable with dialogue!

I am back from Europe!

It was so cool, and I'm going to miss this trips next year, as I'm graduating from high school in June. Aw... they're such cool trips.

Alright, our main stops were in Venice, Florence, Nice and Paris, but we also hit Pisa, Sienna, Monaco and the Loire Valley. I couldn't choose a favourite, but I did the love the beach in Nice (where I must have picked up this "colour" everyone keeps commenting on), the art in Florence (yay Statue of David), the carnival in Venice and Paris in general was really cool.

Got home two days ago, but I was hilariously incoherent the day I got back, and even yesterday I was still spacey. Unfortunatly, I have to get back to that strange thing we call "real life" now... stupid french presentation has to be done, among other things.

My toes are cold.

Alright, so I hope, for the people following this journal, that things have gone well for the last couple weeks, and if you live in the UK, Ireland, Germany or the Canadian Maritimes and Quebec, I waved to you from the plane ;)

Shway, I am now back online fora few days. This whole no monday through thursday thing really sucks.

I leave for Europe I week today. :) I'm very excited. I'm going to be rooming with a friend I've lived with before, and we don't work so well as roomates. She's a neat freak and she always takes the best bed (which only sucks when you're on a boat), but I'm not a neat freak. Of course, it didn't help that our room was the size of a sliver, and the only place to leave my bad *was* in the entrance way, and it was really hard to keep neat because there was no where on the floor to pack it up again, and my bed was a bad place to do it because it was a bunk bed, and I couldn't even sit up when I was under there... I hope it works out better this year. We also had so issues with wake-up calls, which almost rate as nasty on her part, but again, I'm healthier this year, so we'll see.

I have Kung Fu very soon. It's exciting. I get to punch and kick things. And run around the room until I could drop. :)

I've been trying to skim through Gabrielle Roy's autobiography for a school project, and I keep realizing I'm reading, not skimming. She's an amazing author.

This is a very random, very big, very jam-packed post. :) Maybe I'm jumping aorund just neough to so that people with long attention spans won't get bored, and people with short attention spans won't get bored.

Alright. Shutting up.
