Jan. 17th, 2004 07:51 pmA few points before I launch into today's talkings.
1) The rant about the "I don't want to hear about your being sick" thing? I had a talk with the guy. In the end, we worked it out (easily actually). I guess he was having a bad day - and we're all entitled to it. So while we're on good terms again, and I'm not going to bother getting closer to him. It's just not worth it.
2) The pain. Yes. It's winter, so by default, I'm going to be feeling shitty for quite a while. I can't seem to find a season that agrees with me: I just have to ride it out, and keep exercising. I was at Misha and Lauren's yesterday for an RP session and very suddenly, my knuckles started aching - as in sharp, stabbing pains. Hot water helped, but they dug a magic bag out of the kitchen. I am in love. It felt so nice, and it ended up on most of my body before it lost its heat.
And now we hit today's talking, weeeeeee!
So, I set about creating my DnD character, finally. I really wanted to be a gnome, but was talked into playing a human, and since a fun concept popped to mind, I'll just keep the gnome in reserve for another time. She's a human rogue, for those of you who know the game, and is going to be a lot of fun to play.
I've noticed that my characters are all more social skills (this does not mean that they're all sociable - just able to hold their own in one social situation or another) rather than characters that can fight. It's annoying sometimes, but I have to remember they're useful: just when we're trying to kill stuff.
What else? I dreamed Gigi was an evil alien. That was amusing, and it's too bad she wasn't at RP last night, or I could have told her. She'd get a kick out of that. Next week, maybe.
School's proving to be a lot more work this semester - probably because I'm actually doing the reading this time around... yeah...
Kung Fu was good today. Among other things, my Sifu seems very excited to help me out with a school project that uses Kung Fu, so that will be, very likely, uncalculably amazing. I'm also being taken aside lately and taught stuff that's different from the rest of the class. Except for when Edward shows up, I think I'm the student with the highest belt level, but doesn't necessarily mean anything. It's cool though - it's neat stuff, and we're getting into the science and thought behind it too. Makes me happy.
Back to history! The Vikings are arriving in North America!
