Apr. 29th, 2006 12:02 amI am begining to think I will never write this review. I keep trying to think of different ways to approach it, but I settled on this one because I couldn't think of anything else to begin with. The show was just so... not provocative, in any way. I think the most shocking thing was that the audience of upper class white-haired anglo-saxons were exposed to cock-ring jokes and quite a few people laughed. Best I've got, I suppose, is this glimpse into the hidden Gay/Lesbian (and often very kinky) world being exposed in mainstream theatre. But I don't know that I can write two and a half pages about it! Oh the headache. So much for a leisurely ride to end of term! I still have a research/comparative paper to bully through once this is done. Maybe I'll try and scrape something together on all the sex and sexuality in the play and how it changes from page to stage. Or something!
Oh the backlog. Delicious backlog.
UVic hasn't received my Letter of Permission yet, even though it was dropped off almost a month ago. It is somehow reassuring to know that university administrations are as frustrating even across the continent.
