I likeed Dr Doom as a villain. He fought Iron Man too, if I recall. Marvel had good, interesting, complex villains as a rule and that's a huge part of the draw for me.
Personally, I think that plan is hilariously brilliant, if a little misguided, since it would damage him too. Good for the environment though :P Who would have thought? Doom cares about the environment after all!
