Oh, absolutely. I have a friend who also went aphasic when she had her stroke (we are stroke and aphasia buddies!), but at least I had a second language to fall back on. Her stroke hit her language centres and she still struggles with english, eight years later.

It's just that the bad french pricks at my ego... I identify myself as franco-ontarian, but I can't very well do that when I can barely speak.
