Things to do before winter goes away:

1) Build a snowman/snow fort (snow quality permitting)
2) Go skating
3) A good long tromp through the snow
4) Possibly toboganing (this is hindered by my lack of tobogan and sled)
5) Go skiing

I kind of failed at winter last year, so I have to make up for it this year. I still think that winter is one of the best seasons, so long as you get out there and enjoy it.
