I have been in the midst of my "Yay! I survived!" week for two days not and have no even noticed. That is pretty sad.

For those of you new to my flist or for those I don't talk to often, this week marks five years since my stroke and all the complications that I have with it: fibromyalgia, liver troubles, lingering brain damage, piles and piles of medication and lots of doctors. I've got to figure out something new and cool to try this week, because that's what I've decided to do as celebrations from now on.

Those of you close to me may well know that this benchmakr has always kind of scared me. Yet somehow, I am not so scared, after all, that knowing what is still lost is never going to come back. That's it, my grace period is up. The skill sets I can relearn. The memories... well, I've gotten used to having a piece-meal brain. All the emotions of forgotten events are still in the right place, which is almost as important.

Happy Anniversary and congratulations on surviving another year ^_^

I'll probably edit this later to include informational links about stroke. Get informed folks: it's not just for older people. Even little children have them: Sick Kids sees a few a month. Add that up, and that's a lot of kids a year with strokes.
