Sifu worked us so. hard. yesterday. It was fantastic.

I'd swear to you that we must have done push-up after push-up after push-up, because even my back muscles are sore (in the good way), but we didn't do even a single one; this is all from the pad drills. Twenty seconds on each skill. Triple-punch. Single crossovers. Double crossovers. Lead-and-trap. Lead-cross. Lead-cross other side. Lead-cross hook upper-cut. Lead-cross hook upper-cut other side. Lead-cross upper-cut cross hook. Lead-cross upper-cut cross hook other side. Sprint. Repeat, 15 seconds on each skill. Sprint. Repeat, 10 seconds on each skill. Run. Then timed line drills. More running. Especially if you didn't make get your drills done in time. Front kick, side kick, spinning back kick. Front kick, step, hopping side kick. Run.

Some of the muscle looseness it brought on (think of how you feel after a really good massage) is still with me today. That is kind of amazing and very welcome. Training is wonderful. I really need to find a way to keep at this over the break periods and even more importantly, the summer.

Trying to condense six and a half years worth of struggle with my body into a coherent narrative in 500 words or less is proving almost impossible, especially when I haven't yet lived through the denouement to write about it.

"This blank space to be filled 20, 30, 40, 50 years, when the writer actually has some answers."
