When we last left our heroes, Eric and I were falling down a mountain to catch up to a demon he had let loose on the countryside. Mitchell and NPC Marcel were hanging around waiting for Denesia, our latest target to show up. Or rather, waiting around. They had no intention of taking on an Infernal DragonBlood alone. Gigi was between us.

In this week's episode, Eric and I lost the demon's trail and very, very reluctantly, I relented to the party's desires to continue on our mission. I did not like this idea, since I felt it was my duty to take it down after letting it go free - but duty is to packmates too. So after some scouting, I discovered a second building a day from where we were, which would later turn out to be Denesia's real temple and manse. Or at least, the one she actively uses.

So we trek on over, get a friendly warning from a First Circle Demon (who posed no serious threat to our party) that we were not welcome and we regroup. Gigi invents the plan that she and I will fly ahead and keep Denesia from casting any seriously dangerous spells, if at all possible. So of course, this all goes horribly wrong and Gigi got herself captured nearly immediately. I waited for a few moments for the other party members to catch up (who were about fifteen minutes away), but after the giant rockslide, I decided it was time to take action.

I started tearing chuncks out of the roof in order to catch the attention of those inside (Gigi had gotten captured by trying to look in the windows), and lo and behold, Gigi appeared and started helping. A brief conversation occured before she tried to knock me out. This resulted in my first succesful grapple of the game (finally!), through which the boys giggled, because I was straddling Gigi. (Which is a lot less sexy you remember that we're both seven feet tall monsters made of sinew and muscle and ugly half-beastiness.) Then Denesia sent a demon up to help Gigi and after a valliant fight, I was knocked unconscious.

By the time Mitchell and Eric showed up, I was long gone. As in, they still had nine minutes of travelling when I was knocked out. A round of combat takes three seconds. Yeah. The cavalry wasn't coming for me when I needed them. Nor for anyone really, since the moment Mitchell stepped into the temple, he was magicked into loving and admiring Denesia and after a battle of his own, Eric was also knocked unconscious.

So next week, stay tuned for the dramatic shift in the campaign, since we will all be the adoring servants of Denesia, Goddess of Magic. It will be several months before even one of us will have the opportunity to try and break free of Denesia's hold, which will be a Difficulty 6 roll, using only our Willpower scores. For an example, my willpower score is 6. I wish us all the luck in the world trying to break free.

In the meantime, we <3 Denesia.

Sounds like you guys were knocked down a few blocks.

You should have expected something like this, when fighting with the Goddess of Magic, but living is learning.

This opens up all sorts of interesting roleplaying possibilities!

Sydney shall save you all. He's a trained assassin, after all :3

OH! I also enjoy your rainbowy layout. it's still clean, but also interesting.

Roy G. Biv also approves.

Well, the idea was to face her as a group. It just sort of didn't work out that way. I might have even stood a chance (well, maybe not) against the blade demon. But against it and Gigi? Not so much.
