I am feeling a little bit like myself again today! There's a sense of humour sparking at the back of my brain again that I hadn't even realised was missing the last few days. Or rather, it was active sense of humour that was missing. Life was still funny, I just wasn't cracking jokes.

Last night's gaming session was very different from the norm, but entirely enjoyable. We began our Dragonblooded Dynasts game and spent the session in a social, political and even economic whirl. I won't give a full summary as I usually do, but essentially, six Dragonbloods have been sent to govern the smallest of four islands on of Satrapy of the Realm. (The Realm is the Dragonblooded stronghold, for those utterly unfamiliar with the system. Dragonblooded are another kind of Exalt, elementally based as opposed to celestial. Like I said, there were a lot of social politics. Mitchell's character is trying to seduce mine, without actually trying to sleep with her. David's character and mine will be working closely together a lot of the time as we have both taken on the the financial responsibilities of the island, while the other characters are working in different areas. In a nutshell, we spent the session throwing social rolls at each other and digging through paperwork to figure out what the situation on our little island is (generally speaking, it's pretty bad, but we're not bankrupted yet!).

I've also thought up a wonderful way for theatre people to sort of understand what a crash is. It's so how one feels at the end of tech week. Now, without ever having run a tech week while healthy, I'm a little shaky on how perfect a fit this comparison is. I'm pretty confident that it covers the standard "Exhausted crash".

After going on about how I intend to be up at eight in the moring, I forgot to set the alarm and woke up at ten. ^^* But I suspect I needed the sleep.

If your exalts need to declare bankruptcy for the Kingdom, consult me first. I can help you navigate the system, a little.

We're still turning a profit, it's just a rather bare one. We don't have a lot of industry and as Misha said, it says a lot that the overflow trade (which there isn't a lot of to begin with) is the most profitable thing we have going right now. Most industries are breaking even (though we do not know how the peasants are farring, as they do not report profit or loss), but with the ever increasing tribute, things could go sour if we don't make some changes.

Mitchell has proposed we decimate some of the local pirates and steal their booty.

Good luck finding any kind of humour in Une fille d'Ève! It's seriously not funny. Even the fact that we have to read it at all is very sad.

*hugs* Bon courage, mon amie, tu vas en avoir besoin. :(

Balzac isn't funny. He likes to paint morbid little pictures. I haven't gotten to him yet today - I haven't gotten to much yet today. But you're right. It won't be ha ha funny except for what I can dig out of it. Probably more irony and satire than anything else.
