I am a cyniccynic.

I am terribly cynical about cynics (I try not to be, but you guys make it really hard!) The rest of life, however, is freaking awesome. I'll convert you all yet!

While that is good news, I still think saying you're something bad is almost as good as feeling it. No one that truly themselves pretty says "I'm ugly" (unless it's in grossly exagerated teasing tone), for example.

I feel like I should be excusing myself... but having been on the other side of the fence, I know how very true it can be.

Somewhat along the same lines, I think I have another good point of what differentiates a 'realist' from a pessimist. A pessimist will complain/etc about something and be bitter/sad about it. A 'realist' will complain/etc about something and laugh about it, because life is crazy like that.

Because clearly, optimists never complain, nor do we acknowledge that life is ever anything but roses.
