Well, that was anti-climactic.

I completely forgot about my aniversary week. (The last week of May is when the doctors think my stroke occured. It was of the hemorrhagic kind, so it needed the time to bleed out. I had my first seizure the first of June and doctor's visits developed from there.) Appropriate, I suppose, since I'm now past the five year recovery period they gave me, but it still feels odd to have completely and utterly forgotten to dance on Death and Disability's heads. So... Happy (belated) Anniversary to me.

Perhaps the water balloon fight on Wednesday counts as my celebration? I certainly couldn't have done that a few years ago.

Just think of it like when you and a beau have an anniversary on a given day.. but you both have to work. So the anniverary becomes whenever you say it is ^_^

Does this change treatment or anything at all? Like meds, and such?

I will be water balloon fighting, in spirit, with you!

In a certain way, i think forgetting about it is an excellent way to celebrate. Kind of a "screw you, unfortunate past! I'm so far beyond you i don't even remember you anymore!"

I am still here! I win!

I'm still pretty much like me too, only I move around a lot slower. I used to be one of those crazy "A Personality" types that did EVERYTHING.

That's a decent analogy. I've never celebrated an aniversary (granted, there have been very few of those) on the day of. Well, maybe once, but that was just wierd circumstances.

Katie did not roll a twenty, but she rolled pretty darn well, with excellent assists from her friends and family.

Changes nothing. When I see my neurologist in about nine months I'll talk to her about reducing the meds again!

You make an excellent point. Most of my symptoms are Fibromyalgia-related anyway, even if the stroke was the trigger for that. Your choice of words makes me laugh though, because the stroke did bunches of damage to my long term memory :P
