It is nearly party time!
Nov. 17th, 2006 04:09 pmDid I mention last night's show was fantastic? Because it really was. The dress was a bit shaky (and my solo there was a MESS), but it was as they say - the worse the dress, the better the show. I am entirely delighted to be in the program as a soloist.
... it's a little nerve-wracking, but I wanna play again.
Apparently, Zhaan can be fixed if they plant her somewhere and give her lots of sun. I know she's a plant and that these things are good for plants - but where are the consequences for actions like she took? You shouldn't be able to call someone back from the dead, say you've giving up your spiritual energy to do it, and then get planted in some fertile soil with water and sun and survive. Maybe it will be more complex, but I'd have respected the show a lot more if they'd stuck to it. She IS in the credits, though, so Zhaan's sticking around.
I am hilariously amused to find that Lani Tupu, the actor who plays Crais, is also the voice actor for Pilot. The only reason I even suspected it is because he is now in the opening credits as Crais. He was there in the opening credits of the first two seasons, his name appearing with Pilot, but I only made the bridge today. Great amusement, but they really don't sound alike at all! Delighted! :)
There seems to be a shift in the tone show this season. The opening is of course the big tip off - he's not "just trying to get home" anymore, he realises that Earth could be in danger if he does that, all at once acknowledging that if he does nothing, someone may find and trounce them all the same. They really highlighted that this episode when John was approached by alien guest star of the week, going on about the reputation he's earned himself. We're starting to see the broader scope! I currently dislike this shift, but I have faith that they'll manage it well and I will eventually eat those words.
