akeyoftimeSJA is my favourite sometimes.
I love that magic can't make people love each other, I love that Maria and Alan came to visit, and I love that everyone got on so well even without Sarah Jane and Mr Smith (though uh, UNIT may want to upgrade its firewalls - srsly, hasn't Mickey hacked into their systems as well?) Also, I kind of like the idea of Sarah Jane off fighting aliens and when she rounds the corner, bumps into the Doctor with companion in tow (take your pick, really - I'm happy with any of them). I quite like the idea of Sarah Jane simply being awesome on her own as well.
This show has women who save the world together, boys who giggle together at a not-sleepover, and everything in between and that is so, so awesome. The show has handled the transition between Rani and Maria in a very nice way and this week was no exception. Delighted they were able to meet, even if it was in the midst of a crisis.
It kind of sucks to be a parent who is not in the know! I'd sort of forgotten all of Alan's misadventures until I was watching Mr Chandra perform endless push-ups.
I loved that even though he'd forgotten everyone else, that Clyde still had such faith in Sarah Jane. YES she could have been just as easily forgotten, but it was still a moment of win. He was willing to put aside his doubts about everyone else because she said hey, let's get this sorted, you can trust me and your dad's life is important, let's do this.
I feel a bit badly for Clyde's mum, who isn't even given the chance to come around to the idea. Also, seriously Sarah Jane? Toss it in the lake? That's your best solution to a really dangerous alien artefact?
I think next week has the potential to be a lot of fun! I really loved that villain last time out, though I wonder how much our heroes will actually know, considering the roles everyone played in the story arc last series.
