Yes you know, I rather quite enjoyed that!

The first twenty minutes to half hour are particularly brilliant, when we are still trying to sort out who this second Doctor is. I love that the natural assumption (also arguably the most fun) is that this is a future regeneration. And for all that the fans are sad that Tennant is leaving, the Doctory is nonplussed about the prospect of a new face.

Well done show for not killing the black cast this year! I guess Mickey did pull through The Christmas Invasion, but rotten luck for the rest. Rosita came off as a bit generic, but as generally likable, so success enough, paraticularly in light of the fact that Jackson gets no substantial characterization of his own either.

Lamesaucebar, dear show, for painting the only character talking feminist rhetoric as evil, evil, evil. I know that you are not trying to say that Women's Right Are Bad and that All Feminists Want to Punish Men, but the writing was a bit unfortunate.

That bit about being a dab hand with a saber is going to be around in the Tenth Doctor fandom forever, sort of like bananas and red hair. I suspect there were also various whoops for fannish joy when past episodes were referenced. Hello Sally Sparrow! And so exciting to see all ten Doctors on screen! I was particularly impressed to see the Eighth Doctor, as I imagine the footage actually belongs to an American network. I love that this show has the history to do something like that.

Doctor Jackson's sonic screwdriver was, by the way, amazing.
