Nov. 1st, 2004 11:34 pmGoddamnit. It was bad enough the plumbing has gone off in the basement - it didn't need to leak too. It's nothing new for this building, but damned if I had time this week, of all weeks, to sit around at home and wait for the damn plumber that's stood me up twice already.
Tommorow's revised plan is to dash down to the TRL as soon as it opens, photocopy like a demon (because, you know, digging into next week's budget on TUESDAY is always a good idea), and run home again for this. And spend my Sunday back at the same library, looking up stuff for the NEXT assignment, which I won't have time to start tonight.
And fuck. I forgot to put my sandwich in the fridge when I got home. Guess it's for the green bin now.
I'm tired, my basement is smelly and wet, Michael won't come online and I have to keep the phone free, and I really would just like to get some sleep.
At least dinner was good. We splurged on (cheap) steak and then made apple crumble. Because that was all we really had the ingredients for. But it was tasty and those apples really needed to be used up.
Oh well. Essays can be and will be written at home, the plumbers will fix the pipes, I'll rent a fancy vacuum cleaner and somehow, life will return to normal. Or as normal as it ever gets around here :P (There were no boys. Like, at all. Where did they go?)
Sorry Sam, looks like I'm not going to get the chance to finish my contest entry tommorow.

Date: 2004-11-02 07:00 am (UTC)Plumbing is "fun" to say the least. My parents ended up having to cut short their vacation that they took after dropping me off at school because they got a call from a friend who was looking after our house to say that the basement was flooded. Lovely. Apparently my dad has now decided to put in a whole complicated piping system to make sure the basement "never floods again" (yeah...and "the war to end all wars" worked -_-)
Wow...that was rather pessimistic of me.
Anyway, I hope the plumber shows up soon and everything is put back to "normal". And you still have lots of time for the contest (which is good, since I have barely started my art entry and have a very loose idea for a ficcy.
